Hi, out there! Welcome to my little space on the web. I am new to the blogging world, and never imagined that I would have a blog. Have always wondered how people discover a new passion and start to write one. Anyway, about a year ago I got inspired by documentaries such as Food Matters, Hungry For Change and The Gerson Miracle which led me on a quest to making everyday food healthy.
I am passionate about using whole grains, minimizing processed food, and making healthy food from scratch.
I recently read the book “The Healthy Indian Diet” by Dr. Raj Patel, Anuja Balasubramanian and Hetal Jannu. In that they talk about the importance of whole grains and how the south Indian diet has degraded from being nutritious to unhealthy by the extensive use of white rice and all-purpose flour (maida). Chronic conditions such as diabetes, hyper-tension are on the rise and we need to make conscious changes in our lifestyle, most importantly food, to avert or remedy such conditions naturally.
Here, I will chronicle some changes in my lifestyle and recipes with whole grains, incorporating as much whole food ingredients as possible.
